At our monthly Four Corners Writers Workshop on July 16, I presented a talk titled 21st Century Medicine: New Ideas for Mystery, Metaphor and Murder. The discussion covered recent changes in the American healthcare system, both large and small, and included examples of new technologies, medications, and system changes. Interspersed were examples of medical metaphor and mystery usage from Keats, Conan Doyle, Agatha Christie,T.S. Eliot and Abraham Verghese to help visualize the wide range of  opportunities, and hopefully provide inspiration for, creative writings of all types.

The slides from the Workshop can be found HERE. I hope these are helpful and I remain open to any questions from group members regarding medical issues (my e-mail is on the second slide).

Cheers,
Gus Hallin
