There is a lot of advice out there for authors who are just getting started in their careers. How do you self-edit a manuscript? Where do you find a literary agent? What goes into a query letter? But growing your career doesn’t stop there. Agents move on, publishing deals come to an end, and authors decide to change directions. There are many phases you may go through in your career that transcend the introductory process.
Four Corners Writers’ own Bethany Turner stopped by SheWrites recently to offer some guidance, based on her own experience of finding a new literary agent as a publishing seasoned veteran. Click HERE to read the article.

Bethany Turner has been writing since the second grade, when she won her first writing award for explaining why, if she could have lunch with any person throughout history, she would choose John Stamos. She stands by this decision. She now writes pop culture–infused romantic comedies for a generation of readers who crave fiction that tackles the thorny issues of life with humor and insight. Bethany was the 2024 recipient of the Colorado Book Award for Best Romance for Brynn and Sebastian Hate Each Other (HarperCollins, 2023), which was also a finalist for the Colorado Authors League Award for Best Romance (losing out to another of Bethany’s novels, The Do-Over). With Cole and Laila Are Just Friends (HarperCollins, 2024), she became a back-to-back finalist for the Colorado Book Award and the back-to-back winner of the Colorado Authors League Award. Wes and Addie Had Their Chance, published in July of 2025, completes the popular Adelaide Springs, Colorado romance trilogy.
