Behind the Scenes at Maria’s Bookshop and Maria’s Literary Foundation
Maria’s Bookshop Owner Evan Schertz will share the story of Maria’s Bookshop’s 43 years of bookselling in Durango, including a look at how an independent bookstore operates, where the indie bookselling industry stands today, and how Maria’s Bookshop pursues its mission to build community connection through books.
Maria’s Literary Foundation Director Nina Lundstrom will share how the Foundation grew out of Maria’s Bookshop’s community-driven mission into an independent nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to the literary arts across the Four Corners region and provide a look at some of the early impacts the organization has achieved.
